Song Hye-Kyo, Blackpink's Lisa, and Other Korean Celebrities' Hairstyles: Professional Advice

Song Hye-Kyo, Blackpink's Lisa, and Other Korean Celebrities' Hairstyles: Professional Advice - Whether it's K-drama, K-pop, Korean cuisine, Korean art, Korean celebs gracing fashion advertisements, or Korean beauty, there's no stopping the K-mania. Many beauty aficionados are clamoring for K-beauty tips and tricks as a result of the explosive growth of Korean entertainment and culture.

We can also observe the ubiquity of Korean celebrity haircuts. It is not surprising that Song Hye-kyo instantly becomes a popular topic everytime she dons a new haircut or that Blackpink's Lisa's Cleopatra-inspired bangs have come to be associated with her image.

We contacted Marvin Lin, creative director at Shhh salon in Hong Kong, who claims more than 20 years of hairstyling expertise and is a veteran at editorial hairstyling, for her expert recommendations so you may get your desired hairdo observed on your favorite Korean celebs.

Which Korean hairdo trends have you noticed recently?

There are essentially two categories of Korean hairstyles. First, there are the refined, classy men and women that we observe in celebrities like Hyun Bin, Gong Yoo, Song Hye-kyo, and Jun Ji-hyun. The natural volume and bounce of the hair, as well as the near resemblance of the color to the natural hair color, are the main characteristics of these hairstyles. This fashion is meant to be subtle, yet pleasing and natural. It's not just trendy; it's also classic, light, and shiny.

The other extreme is represented by the young, fashion-forward hairdos of idols like BTS and Blackpink, which are characterized by exaggerated platinum or pastel colors to reflect their personalities and complement their avant-garde aesthetics. On stage, the vivid, wacky colors further heighten the drama.

Why do you believe Korean hairstyles are becoming more and more trendy right now?

K-pop and K-drama have had a huge cultural impact on fashion and style in addition to entertainment. On the front rows of important fashion weeks in Europe or New York City, we have spotted Korean celebrities. This says a lot about them as our generation's trend-setters and influencers. It is not surprising to see their personal style being imitated across the board because their music, acting, and personal style have resonated with millennials who are today's primary trend-setters and customers. This is also due to the high production quality of their work.

chin-length, airy jaw cut

Hair care advice:

Select hair care items that can make hair wispy and airy. I use OMG Airy Treatment after shampooing, putting additional product into the last 2-3 inches of hair after applying it to the entire head of hair.

Style advice:

Before blow-drying, evenly use a styling spray that can produce a voluminous, bouncy effect to the hair. While blow-drying, pay close attention to the hair roots in particular. To emphasize that fluffy bounce, I would curl the hair along the hairline (around the forehead) using larger size curling tongs. The key to this hairdo is volume and bounce, especially around the roots.

Long cut with two layers

Use hair care items that strengthen the hair shaft, provide luster, and leave a trail of airy volume. To attain the desired look, longer hair necessitates the use of more treatments that provide airiness while mending damage and not weighing hair down.

Tips for styling: To boost protection for the ends of the hair, use a lightweight leave-in treatment with damage repair and heat protection characteristics to the hair all over before blow-drying.

Create an S-shaped curl by curling each part two to three times. By selecting the appropriate size for your brush and curling tongs, you may regulate the size and tenderness of the curls. Do the sides of your hair in two pieces. Once the curls are taken out of the brush or tong, leave them in place and wait to ruffle your hair until all the curls are gone. The curls can then loosen up and appear more natural by ruffling or flipping your hair.

Cut with wavy texture

Haircare Advice: To maintain the cool, handsome, and airy strands and curtain bangs of this medium-length hairstyle in the sweltering summer heat, it's important to pay attention to the water-oil balance of the scalp.

Apply a volumizing hair spray that adds shine and protection to hair before blow-drying. Applying more at the hair roots may result in a longer-lasting, airy volume, depending on the composition. With a small round brushes, draw the hair straight up from the scalp and curl it into a C shape (you may do so with the curling tong too). From the hairline to the nape, complete this in 4-6 stages.

You can comb the side hair, which is often shorter, backwards. When done, use your hand to part your hair in a zigzag pattern. For more bounce and volume, add more blowdry lotion as needed, or use clay to build the layer.

long-fringed bob with a long jaw

Haircare Advice: The key to this look is to project an image of effortless chic. Select hair care items that have powerful damage healing capabilities, such as those that include hyaluronic acid and plant stem cells, to ensure that every time you wash your hair, you are nourishing and rehydrating your strands.

Apply a moisturizing serum or blow-dry lotion with humectants before blow-drying to keep your strands appearing plump and hydrated. It's essential to avoid frizz with this style. Controlling the airflow so that it passes from the hair root to the tip is the secret to having lustrous hair. Add a leave-in treatment to smooth the ends and add moisture and gloss to the top.

The millennial pink or Barbie pink

Asians have naturally dark hair, which must be bleached to give it this pink tone, however bleaching causes damage to the hair. At least twice a week, use shampoo and treatments with hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed keratin, and plant stem cells to repair damage and remodel hair shafts from the inside out. Use an OMG Glossy treatment or any treatment that penetrates and strengthens hair, and leave it on the hair for 20 to 30 minutes for greater reparative activity. The color will linger longer as a result.

Apply a blow-dry lotion infused with hyaluronic acid and plant stem cells to heal damage and boost volume. Also, apply a leave-in treatment with heat protection and anti-UV characteristics before blow-drying. From top to bottom, create gentle S-shaped curls using curling tongs. To create the beach girl mood, finish with Mist Beach Spray.

The neighbor's son with a center section

Haircare advice: Keratin, deep-sea extracts, and hyaluronic acid are all ingredients in treatments that can help you achieve short, bouncy strands while minimizing blow-dry damage.

Use a hair spray before blow-drying to improve the shine and airiness. After the hair has dried, make a C-shaped curl with curling tongs on the hair along the forehead. To achieve that modern, layered style, use hair pomade.

Lucid blue

Haircare Advice: Using hair products with great damage repair activity, such as those containing plant stem cells and hyaluronic acid, at least twice a week would be beneficial. Bleached and coloured hair needs a lot of nourishment and damage repair. To increase the hair's resilience and elasticity so that even after bleaching and coloring, hair would still look airy and shining, apply a damage-repairing mask to the hair, such as OMG Airy Treatment, and leave on for 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing.

Apply a blow-dry lotion containing plant stem cells and hyaluronic acid that provides a higher level of damage healing before blow-drying with hot air, according to styling advice. When blow-drying the hair above the eyebrows, use a medium-sized round brush to shape the hair into a C. After bleaching and coloring, it's important to finish with a leave-in treatment that provides shine and protection.
